Sobrarbe Round, round, which is not hidden, it hides

Two years after the slaughter (I mean the murder of 347 children from Gaza by the State of Israel), taking advantage of some quiet, I work to play hide and seek with the Rock.

Mankell, the epitome of Nordic crime novel

Henning Mankell is heir of the parents of the crime novel Nordic and Wahlöö Sjöwall and, in my opinion, is also the better quality of them all.

Over ten novels written between 1991 and 2009 (the same number of works with which Wahlöö Sjöwall and developed the character of Inspector Martin Beck between 1965 and 1975), Mankell gives us a new version of police credibility, which moves in a world comprehensible (for the imperfect) with personal and social conflicts: the inspector Kurt Wallander.

Wallander is a middle-aged man with a tendency to be fat, with problems in everyday life, individually and in love with his ex-wife, distant relationships with his daughter and a senile father, a real detective who employs resolution of their cases perhaps unorthodox methods but effective, based on observation.

The character has been brought to the screen, as far as I know, in two TV series: the first of Swedish origin, starring Krister Henriksson ( IMDB link) and another co-production (UK-Sweden-United States-Germany), starring Kenneth Branagh ( IMDB link). While the series are quite "visible" (especially the second, well played by Branagh and well shot in Sweden) do not reach the height of ten novels Mankell. Murderers

faceless ( Mördare ansikte utan, 1991), The Dogs of Riga ( Hundarna i Riga, 1992), The White Lioness (Den vita lejoninnan , 1993), The man Smiley (Mannen som log , 1994), The red herring ( Villospår , 1995), The Fifth Woman ( Den kvinna femte , 1996) On the heels ( Steget efter , 1997), Firewall ( Brandvägg , 1998), The pyramid ( Pyramiden , 1999) and restless man ( Den mannen orolige , 2009).

recommend reading them in chronological order because, in addition to presenting each of them a detective story, all perfectly built a character, Wallander, evolving over nearly 20 years, until age sixty in the tenth novel, probably the last.

Henning Mankell is a versatile man who also writes for young people and is also a playwright. His commitment to cultural development led him to direct the National Theatre of Mozambique and political commitment it takes, for example, suffer kidnapping Sofia board the ship trying to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza last year. Her work has received several awards, including Pepe Carvalho 2006.

continue with the series of loans. In the first comment, who what we want to pay, we leave the link for the loan of the first novel in the series Wallander: Murderers faceless (epub format , is read with Adobe Digital Editions which is free, or translated into other formats with the program, also free, Calibre ).
